  • Gorgeous few days here in this beautiful valley.
Weather's been lovely. Yesterday started with a snow flurry and ended in sunshine and a spectacular sunset!
Cottage was cosy, comfy and really clean. Views are breathtaking. Watching oystercatchers in the field, listening to curlews and towny owls. I already want to come back. A very special place to spend my 37th birthday!

  • Another lovely week. Wild Boar fell in the snow. The Engine Shed in Kirkby Stephen. Seeing old friends and catching up.
    As always, sad to go!

  • Second time visiting Pendragon View. Lovely peaceful stay, nice and cosy even with the heavy snow fall. Just what we needed after a hectic Christmas. Thank you.

  • We've had a great New Year week at Pendragon View. We've had a mix week of weather; cloud, wind, rain, sunshine, frost but the cottage has always been warm and cosy.
We've had everything we needed for a peaceful and relaxing week, with not a single firework heard all week ... bliss!
Lovely to see the red squirrels are doing well in this part of the UK; spotted at Pendragon castle, Smardale Gill Nature Reserve and Stenkrith Park. Walk and scenery stunning at Cautley Spout and just down the road from The Thrang to The Water Cut. Short and enjoyable walk at Cotter Force also. We enjoyed a full English breakfast at Owen's Farm Shop/Cafe when it was 50mph winds outside.
Thank you to Ivana & Nigel for letting us stay at Pendragon View.

  • This was our first stay at Pendragon View and we have had a great time!
The cottage is cosy and has everything we needed; the tea, milk, coffee and biscuits were a very welcome touch.
The views were stunning! We enjoyed dog walks along the viaduct, a visit to Ribblehead Viaduct, exploring Pendragon Castle and a stroll around Kirkby Stephen.
Would recommend The Royal Oak Inn in Appleby for great food and also The Black Bull at Nateby. Thank you for a lovely few days!

  • Well, what can we say? We have had the most amazing 6 nights here at Pendragon View. The cottage is in a beautiful location and is clean and cosy with everything you need. We have loved exploring the dales and climbed some amazing hells with spectacular views, had some lovely chilled evenings with a glass of wine sitting outside, the weather has been very kind! The Black Bull at Nateby serves the most amazing food! Thank you!! We will be back!

  • What a beautiful place, we have enjoyed our stay!! Good dog walks along the viaducts and Hell Gill Force waterfall.
Black Bull is perfect for lunch (Nateby) and some small shops in Kirkby Stephen perfect for gifts.
Ravenstonedale has a good golf course and is open anytime (honesty box).
Enjoyed playing Bird Bingo, Chess + Snake & ladders. We found a massive spider but was brave!!!!!
Thank you for the best stay ever!

  • Our 3rd time here & it just keeps getting better!
Black Bull at Nateby does the most amazing food, especially their Sunday roast. We got the train from Kirkby Stephen to Settle, stunning scenery, definitely recommend.
So many hares in the field every morning and evening. We feel so relaxed. Definitely booking for next year.
    Thanks Nigel & Ivana.

  • Absolutely wonderful, exactly where we hoped and anticipated to be, memories of being in Mallerstang with our family. Briliant accommodation, thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our companions loved their freedom and were safe, home from home.
Explored near and far: Kirkby Stephen, Hawes, Sedbergh, Kendal, Windermere, Penrith, Ullswater, Kirkstone Pass.
    Absolutely blast! Thank you.

  • Lovely cottage, everything we needed. Dogs have had a lovely time. We wanted a short break in peaceful surroundings and got that. So many lovely places to go and views are amazing. Very dog friendly wherever you go. Thank you.

  • Rained every day but it never seems to matter here, it's still beautiful & then suddenly the sun comes out, blue sky and Wild Boar Fell reveals itself. Did lots of walking & there are always new bits to discover in the valley. So many hares again! Another lovely supper at the Black Bull in Sedbergh. Can't wait to be back in the summer. Thank you!

  • Thank you Ivana & Nigel for yet another fantastic stay in your lovely, comfortable, clean & cosy cottage. we have thoroughly enjoyed the rest and relaxation in such an amazing location., There is lots to see and explore and of course good walks.
Thanks for letting us know about the vintage vehicle rally in Kirkby Stephen at the weekend - well worth a visit.
We are already looking forward to our annual visit next year to our 'sanctuary of peace and relaxation'.
    Many thanks.

  • Great cottage, remote but easy to get to. Walks to Water Cut & viaduct walk (Kirkby Stephen) well worth it. Drive up Tommy road & across common as dramatic as ever. Changeable weather but that's Mallerstang for you :)
Love the cottage experience from the ease of booking to the stay itself.
Thanks for letting us to stay.
